Severe famine is expected in Africa
Now, for once, it is really impossible to blame the poorly functioning governments and administrations of African countries for the delay. In many countries, the most stringent restrictive measures have been put in place and resources have been diverted to vital economic sectors, notably agriculture, before the infection has (verifiably) appeared in the country. But that didn’t help either, Africa is simply not strong enough to resist the pandemic. (index)
