VAT- war between the processors and retailers
The National Food Processors Association reported to the Economic Competition Authority that the processors of the chain of stores want to force the supplier firms to a 4-6 percent reduction in suppliers' prices.
The networks in afraid of the decline in demand do not wish to raise consumer prices. According to Boródi Attila, Executive Chairman of the National Food Processors Association, the networks would pay additional burden of VAT increase with the food industry. They would not allow from their profits in favor of the consumers. According to the calculations of the National Food Processors Association; with the decreasing suppliers' prices, trade would put a 100 billion HUF weight on the food industry. Vámos György, the Secretary-General of the National Trade Association (OKSZ) do not see anything particular that some traders asks for price changes because of the increasing costs from suppliers – reports VG Online.
