The rearrangement of the tobacco market may bring tax losses

If the Parliament accepts the latest amendment of the ten percent price margin in case of the tobacconists, it can bring an up to 130 HUF average price increase. Due to the strenghtening of the black market, the tax revenue loss may be 40-45 billion HUF – was said at the Laurel Retail Conference.

The number of retailers dealing with tobacco sales will decline from 40-42 thousand to 5500 from the first of July – said Szabó József, expert of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV). The expert added that there are a lot of new rules. The tobacco law  contains a part of the new regulations, the other part is included in the contest itself.
