Giving is Joy! – We can join the Christmas fundraising now with donation cards
This year, the joint Christmas fundraiser of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and SPAR Hungary, the Adni Öröm! campaign, will be launched. In the first phase of the non-perishable food collection – from November 28 to December 16, 2025 – you can support families in need with the help of donation cards that can be purchased at designated SPAR and INTERSPAR stores or by donating online.
By purchasing donation cards, anyone can contribute to ensuring that gift packages made of non-perishable food reach as many people in difficult situations as possible during the holiday season. The food purchased with the value of the donation cards is delivered from the warehouses to those in need with the help of the employees and volunteers of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service – even before the holidays.
Tamás Romhányi, the communications manager of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, highlighted: “Each donation card purchased is not only food, but also a personal gesture that gives hope and encouragement to families in need. Working together provides real, tangible help to thousands of people every year.”
“The Joy of Giving! has been one of the most important social campaigns for decades, in which customers, volunteers and employees work together to ensure that as many families as possible receive support as the holidays approach. The power of personal solidarity is present in every donation, which is why it is particularly important for us to provide the opportunity to provide joint assistance this year as well,” said Márk Maczelka, communications manager of SPAR Hungary. Head of the department.
The Joy of Giving! donation cards in denominations of 1,000, 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 forints will be available in selected SPAR and INTERSPAR stores between November 28 and December 16, 2025. In addition, a donation card worth 399 forints can also be purchased exclusively at INTERSPAR cash registers. The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service uses the proceeds from the donation cards to purchase food packages, which it delivers to needy families, lonely elderly people and homeless people with the help of its volunteers.
Donors can now join online at https://adomanyozz.hu/gyujtes/adniorom2025, where they can support the collection with any amount.
A list of stores selling donation cards is available on www.adniorom.hu, as well as the short film “The Path of Donation”, which shows how a small gesture can be a huge help. The film is also available at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWkxWc61f2c
Personal donations will be possible between December 11 and 16, 2025, when volunteers of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service will personally receive customers’ non-perishable food donations in the designated 148 SPAR and 36 INTERSPAR stores.
