After Wolt, Foodpanda addressed the kata issue, too
Not long after Wolt spoke out about the kata issue, another food delivery giant, Foodpanda, also came forward. Following the modification of the tax form, Foodpanda has been working for the past two weeks to examine alternative solutions from the perspective of its thousands of delivery partners, most of whom contract with the company as sole proprietors.
The law provides and makes it clear that courier activity cannot be carried on with a kata as has been the case in recent years. Our task was therefore to compare the alternatives provided by law. As it has never been the case before, from September 1st there will not be a single form of taxation that someone would have to choose in order to remain a foodpandás courier partner. With the elimination of the kata, depending on your life situation, you can choose between flat-rate taxation and taxation according to entrepreneurial income, and we are investigating further possible forms of cooperation. The tax burdens to be paid may increase depending on the individual situation, but in some cases they may even decrease. However, accounting costs will definitely increase. foodpanda provides its partners with all the support they need for calculations, decisions and a smooth transition
– said István Juhász, managing director of foodpanda Hungary.
