The European Commission’s consumer survey shows the effects of the pandemic and the increase in environmental awareness
The European Commission surveyed consumer experiences in 23 economic sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. European consumers are ordering more online and trying to shop locally as often as possible. In addition, they make “greener” decisions, meaning they are willing to pay more for a product that is environmentally friendly.
A comprehensive study by the European Commission mapped in the last quarter of 2020 in the Member States of the Community consumer behavior and experience. The Commission has published the main results of a targeted survey based on 23 economic sectors and Eurostat data which provide insight into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on European households.
