Magazine: Cities with the most Michelin stars
A US website compiled the list of cities with the highest number of Michelin-star restaurants per capita. There are 5 French cities in the top 20 but the number one spot is occupied by Kyoto (population: 1.5 million), where there are 9.3 Michelin stars for every 100,000 people. Number two in this strange ranking is San Sebastian (population: 186,000) with 7.5 stars for 100,000 people. With its 120,000 population Bergamo came in at number three – they boast 6.6 per 100,000 dwellers. The list was compiled calculating with current rankings. If the complete history of Michelin stars had counted, classic French ski resorts would have scored better.
