Glory of the world

Up till recently, Lou Lou had been regarded by the press as the first restaurant in Hungary with a realistic chance of being awarded a Michelin star. However, Lou Lou has been surrounded by complete silence for quite some time.–By 2008, the situation has again deteriorated to the level where it had been in the early 1990’s, under the MNGSZ era. Elected and self-appointed leaders believe themselves to be infallible and have been given opportunities which they cannot objectively handle.
–Are you still aiming for the Michelin star? – Sometimes I feel that I would need to invest a disproportionate amount of money and effort. There are many restaurants in Budapest which have similar prices to Lou Lou, but practically all of them also have something cheap to offer. We have nothing cheap, as we only use the best materials. Unfortunately, people generally only come to us to celebrate nowadays …–you could be one of the people who make it to the Michelin star paved by Tamás Molnár B. –I no longer know who he is paving his road for. In spite of his expertise, his activity has become at least as damaging as it is positive. He has assumed a kind of “I know best” attitude. I am afraid that his views have played a part in the first Michelin star in the region going to Prague instead of Budapest. I believe that we would be much better off if he and his followers had not talked so much about “the terrible standard” of Hungarian gastronomy.
