Beyond trademark use: What kinds of opportunities lie in collectives?
Hungarian Product Nonprofit Kft. organised a trade day in May, the venue of which was the Ignác Darányi room in the Ministry for Rural Development, where more than 150 participants convened to discuss matters such as keeping trademark users informed and creating relationship building opportunities.
After Minister of Rural Development Dr Sándor Fazekas’ keynote speech managing director Attila Kecskeméti told that there are already more than 120 trademark users, and three quarters of these are food products. He added that one of the most important tasks is exploiting the collective’s economic potential, for instance by members’ joint purchasing at discount prices. Balázs Győrffy, the president of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) spoke about extending the cooperation in trademark use and in the related communication activities. Krisztina Vatai’s presentation introduced GS1 Magyarország Nonprofit Zrt.’s SafeBrand service, which calls consumers’ attention to the trademark with the help of an application. NÉBIH and NFH shared their recent experiences in market players complying with the ministry’s ‘Hungarian product’ regulation. Main sponsor of the event Budapest Bank introduced bank products tailored to SMEs needs, while Éva Kabai from Hungarian Export-Import Bank shared new export support schemes with participants. Finally METRO’s representative talked about their measures to help Hungarian manufacturers.
