Relief of protection measures in hospitality from 18 May 2020
Legislation related to further reliefs was published in Magyar Közlöny. 207/2020 on the next phase of protection measures. (V. 15.) on 18 May 2020, milder restrictions will also apply to Pest County. With this measure, the stricter rules are limited to Budapest.
The security measures for catering shops are as follows:
§ 2. (1) Staying and consuming the ordered food or drink in the inner (closed) part of the catering shop – especially in the restaurant, café, confectionery, buffet, espresso – as defined in subsection (2) – permitted.
(2) In the inner (closed) part of the catering shop
(a) workers there must wear a device to cover their mouth and nose (such as a medical mask, scarf, shawl) in an area accessible to guests, and
(b) compliance with the protection distance under the Safeguards Regulation is mandatory.
Security measures for accommodation
§ 4. (1) Accommodation according to the Act on Trade may receive guests, and guests are allowed to stay there.
(2) The rules applicable to catering shops shall apply to the catering premises operated in the accommodation.
Protection measures for family events
§ 5. (1) From 1 June 2020, a family event following a funeral and marriage may be held if the number of participants does not exceed 200 people.
(2) From 1 June 2020, a marriage and a post-marriage family event may be held in a catering shop as well as in an accommodation and a musical service may be provided.
(3) During the family event pursuant to subsection (1), it is obligatory to observe the protective distance in accordance with the regulation on protection measures.
