Higher-than-expected wheat output in the European Union
French market analyst Tallage calculates with 147.5 million tons of wheat at EU level. In the second half of September the production price of milling quality wheat was HUF 48,900/ton in Hungary; while feed quality wheat was sold for HUF 44,500/ton. According to the Central Statistical Office (KSH), in the first half of 2015 Hungary’s wine export rose 8 percent in volume and grew 11 percent in value, compared with the performance of the same period in 2014. 60 percent of our wine export was sold in bulk and we sold 5 percent more than in the base period; our bottled wine sales augmented by 14 percent in foreign markets. In August 2015 the production price of raw milk was HUF 74.81/kg in Hungary, dropping 25 percent from August 2014. Its export price was HUF 83.89/kg – 23 percent less than the base-period price. In the first half of the year Hungary exported milk and dairy products for 10 percent more, HUF 40.2 billion; import fell 9 percent to HUF 46.5 billion.
