German retail sales grew less than expected
In February, retail sales in Germany grew less than in the previous month and market expectations, both on a monthly and annual basis, according to a report released on Thursday by the German Federal Statistical Office, Destatis.
Adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects, the German retail sector traded 0.3 percent more in real terms in February 2022 and 0.6 percent more in nominal terms than in January 2022.
Retail sales in February 2022, at 7.0 percent in real terms and 11.0 percent in nominal terms, were also significantly higher than the February 2021 base. (MTI)
