Retail sales in the euro area were more favorable than expected
Retail trade growth in the euro area was much higher than expected in June, indicating that household consumption continues to support economic growth through declining export performance.
The European Union Bureau of Statistics (Eurostat) announced on Friday that, according to seasonally adjusted data, retail sales in the 19 member euro area grew 1.1 percent, compared to May, which is the strongest result since November 2017. (MTI)
