Retail sales grew much more than expected in the United States in September
In September, seasonally and calendar-adjusted, retail sales in the U.S. grew 1.9 percent from the previous month, instead of the expected 0.7 percent growth and after a 0.6 percent monthly increase in August.
Retail sales in September have been growing for the fifth month in a row in the United States.
Sales of apparel increased the most, by 11 percent, and passenger cars by 4 percent. (MTI)
