GfK’s German consumer sentiment index deteriorated more than expected in May
GfK’s German consumer sentiment index, which deteriorated more than expected to a historic low, fell in May, mainly due to inflation and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

German consumer confidence at a low point
The consumer sentiment index for May deteriorated to minus 26.5 points from minus 15.7 points in April. On average, experts showed a less deteriorating indicator, minus 16 points for May.
Within the overall sentimentindex, all three sub-indicators weakened. (MTI)
