GfK’s German consumer sentiment index deteriorated more than expected in May
GfK’s German consumer sentiment index, which deteriorated more than expected to a historic low, fell in May, mainly due to inflation and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The consumer sentiment index for May deteriorated to minus 26.5 points from minus 15.7 points in April. On average, experts showed a less deteriorating indicator, minus 16 points for May.
Within the overall sentimentindex, all three sub-indicators weakened. (MTI)
