Retail sales in the euro area were weaker than expected
Retail sales in the euro area were weaker than expected in May. In a monthly comparison, decline occurs for the second consecutive month in the volume of traffic as a further sign of slowing economic growth in the second quarter.
On Thursday, the European Union Statistical Office (Eurostat) reported that seasonally adjusted data showed a decline of 0.3 percent in April in the 19-member eurozone and 1.3 percent year-on-year for retail sales in May. (MTI)
