Chinese exports expanded in excess of expectations in December
Exceeding expectations, Chinese exports expanded in December after growing for the seventh month in a row, partly due to Chinese manufacturers being placed in an advantageous position over their foreign competitors hampered by pandemiological restrictions.
The dollar-denominated value of exports rose 18.1 percent year-on-year in the last month of last year, according to data released by the Chinese Customs Service on Thursday. Although export growth was lower than the 21.1 percent rise in November, a more than two-year high, it exceeded the 15 percent growth rate forecast by analysts. (MTI)
