Since the beginning of the crisis, the euro area trade surplus has fallen to its lowest level
The euro area trade surplus in the euro area declined more than expected in January compared with the previous month, but was still higher than a year before – according to preliminary data from the European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat.
External trade surplus in the euro area in January, decreased from 29.4 billion euros of December 2020 to 6.3 billion euros instead of the expected 25.3 billion euros – according to Eurostat’s first estimate. A year before in January 2020, the asset was 1.6 billion euros. (MTI)
