Science knows no borders
The future of a country lies in knowledge, innovation and in those young people who bravely ask questions, research and seek new answers today – stated István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, at the opening of the Agricultural Science Section of the 37th National Scientific Student Association Conference, on Thursday, in Csíkszereda.

The Minister drew attention to the fact that this year, for the first time, the largest agricultural science review of Hungarian higher education will be organized outside the borders of our country. This event gives students the opportunity to delve deeper into a research topic that interests them and to experience the process of scientific work, the importance of cooperation and community. Today’s research lays the foundation for the results of the future. In addition to space exploration and artificial intelligence, agriculture and the food industry are the most innovative sectors, because technologies and products change the fastest here. Today, modern technology, data-based production, precision farming, digitalization, robotics, and weather-resistant production are an integral part of agriculture and the food industry, he added.
István Nagy also spoke about the fact that science, innovation, and competitiveness are interrelated and mutually reinforcing values
Without science, there is no innovation and no competitiveness. And without competitive higher education, there is no scientific progress. That is why the government pays special attention to Hungarian higher education and talent development. We are committed to ensuring that all talented young people have the opportunity to develop, he emphasized. He explained that our goal is also to strengthen the Hungarian scientific and research community both domestically and internationally. That is why we are increasing the resources intended to support the most talented researchers and ensuring the social utilization of research. All this also means that we count on the dedication of young people, their acquired knowledge, experience and, last but not least, their talent – emphasized the head of the agricultural ministry.
