The price of eggs at the packing point is 65 percent higher than a year ago
Based on data from the European Commission, the packing point price of table eggs in the EU was 246.58 euros/100 kilograms in the first thirty weeks of 2023, 43.8 percent higher than the price of the same period of the previous year.

According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, the packing point price of caged table eggs (M+L) in Hungary was HUF 61.25/piece in the first thirty weeks of 2023, which was 65 percent higher than the average price of the same period in 2022. Within this, the packing point price of size class M boxed eggs increased by 66.4 percent to HUF 64.06/piece, and that of size class L boxed eggs by 67.4 percent to HUF 73.98/piece. At the same time, the packing point price of M-tray eggs rose by 66.5 percent to HUF 56.97/piece, and that of L-tray eggs by 62.3 percent to HUF 60.9/piece. The packing point price of deep-laid table eggs (M+L) was HUF 69.52/piece in the first thirty weeks of 2023, which was 70.4 percent higher than the average price for the same period in 2022.
