The price of eggs at the packing point is 19 percent lower than a year ago
According to data from the European Commission, the packing point price of table eggs in the EU was 220 euros/100 kilograms in the first twenty-three weeks of 2024, 13 percent below the value of the same period of the previous year.

According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, the packing point price of table eggs (M+L) from cage keeping in Hungary was HUF 51.83/piece in the first twenty-three weeks of 2024, which was 19.3 percent lower than the average price of the same period in 2023. The packing point price of boxed eggs in size class M decreased by 17.6 percent to HUF 55.22/piece, and that of boxed eggs in size class L decreased by 16.8 percent to HUF 64.42/piece. The packing point price of M-tray eggs decreased by 23.6 percent to HUF 46.28/piece, and that of L-tray eggs decreased by 21.3 percent to HUF 49.49/piece. The packing point price of table eggs (M+L) from deep-laying was HUF 59.80/piece in the first twenty-three weeks of 2024, which is 16.9 percent lower than the average price for the same period of 2023.
