Tesco and its customers are supporting the fight against breast cancer together again this year
As in previous years, Tesco also launched a charity campaign in October 2023 to support the fight against breast cancer. By purchasing products marked with the Go Pink label, customers of the department store chain contribute HUF 5 to the Department of Internal Medicine and Oncology of the Semmelweis University and to the recovery of patients. And Tesco adds HUF 2 million to the collected amount. The company also offers its employees a variety of health-related programs and services throughout the month.
Every year for a long time, October has been the period of an international campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer and its prevention, symbolized by a pink ribbon. Among the most frequently occurring new cancer cases worldwide, breast cancer is now a leader. And in Hungary, approx. 8,000 new breast cancers are diagnosed and an average of 2,000 people die from the disease every year. The most important tool in the fight against breast cancer is regular screening, since the disease detected in time is more likely to be cured and complications can be prevented.
