Tesco's food safety practices meet the food safety standards
Official controls were initated in connection with Tesco’s meat treatment practices, because of the news heard in the media, but the controls did not reveal any abnormalities in the controlled Tesco stores. According to the the first round of the tests, the treatment of meat met with the food safety standards in the tested 26 stores.
“I'm glad that the authority responded with extra controls to the accusations of the media” – Gerry Gray CEO of Tesco Hungary said. “Nothing dispels the doubts as the qualification of an independent, credible body.” Tesco's commitment is also demonstrated that company undertakes money back guarantee for meat products in the scope of the Meat Warranty Program introduced half a year ago.
