Tesco on extra crisis tax on hipermarkets
“We understand and accept the fact that the government is about to face tough decisions. However, we would like to express our worries about the planned extra crisis tax for hipermarkets, which in fact would be a tax levied on workplaces and investments” – Tesco announced as a reply to the prime minister's announcment today about extra taxes.
The company also added that introducing such high taxes within such a short period of time, without any previous agreement, is surely a serious threat to business goals. This might lead to several other problems in a context when the country is in a great need of foreign investments and workplaces and growth associated with these investments.
