Hungary hosted the 44th session of the European Committee on Agriculture of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the participation of countries from the European and Central Asian region. In this context, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO also opened an exhibition organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the FAO, which can be visited for a month in the building of the Hungarian Agricultural Museum and Library in Vajdahunyadvár. Oszkár Ökrös, Deputy State Secretary for International Affairs, emphasized at the meeting that striking a balance between productivity and sustainability is not only an economic necessity, but also our strategic interest and moral responsibility. In his speech, the Deputy State Secretary said that, based on this, the Hungarian Government places great emphasis on agroecological and sustainable animal husbandry methods, as well as on the introduction of digitalization and modern technologies. One of the most important tools for the agriculture of the future is the digital transition, and to this end, the Government is intensively developing the agricultural data infrastructure, encouraging the spread of precision technologies, and providing support services for producers.
