Eggs are much more expensive than last Easter
According to PÁIR data from the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI), in December 2021 the production price of raw milk was HUF 124.65/kg, 4 percent more than in November 2021 and 13 percent more than in December 2020. Raw milk’s export price was HUF 143.29/kg last December, down 1 percent from November but up 34 percent from December 2020.
According to data from the European Commission, the price of egg was EUR 144.01/100kg at the place of packaging in the first three weeks of 2022, 19 percent more than in the same period of 2021. PÁIR data from the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) says that in Hungary the price of cage egg (sizes M+L) was HUF 31.05/piece in the same period – up nearly 16 percent. Deep litter egg (sizes M+L) cost HUF 33.32/piece at the place of packaging, having grown by 21 percent from the first three weeks of 2021. //
