Platán Gourmet in Tata won the Restaurant of the Year award
Tata’s Platán Gourmet won the Audi – Dining Guide Restaurant of the Year award, considered one of the most prestigious accolades of Hungarian gastronomy, at the award ceremony held in Budapest on Monday evening.
In recent years, chef István Pesti has proven that a major tourist destination is not necessarily necessary for a restaurant with a gourmet approach to find its audience. The kitchen of Platán Gourmet, a unit of the Platán formation that opened in 2021, represents a way of thinking based on very unique ideas. The restaurant, which offers 12-course tasting menus, uses extremely varied ingredients, the menu clearly reflects the chef’s strong and unique vision of fusion – the jury praised the restaurant in Tata, which was recently awarded 2 Michelin stars.
In addition to Platán Gourmet, Salt Budapest, Rumor by Rácz Jenő, Babel Budapest, 42 Restaurant & Bar in Esztergom, Costes Downtown, Essencia Restaurant, Costes Restaurant, Borkonyha are on the Dining Guide Étteremkalauz TOP10+2 list this year , Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Mák Restaurant and the Onyx workshop.
