Kaufland in Slovakia targets Hungarian customers
Kaufland’s Slovakian stores are actively luring Hungarian customers by offering attention-grabbing prices – warns the Pénzcentrum.
The website of the Slovak branch of the German discount chain advertises the products in Hungarian, emphasizing that their prices are significantly lower than in Hungary. As an example, in Kaufland stores located in Losonc and other cities, a kilo of watermelon is offered for only 0.69 euros (approx. 267 forints), compared to the price of 339 forints at SPAR in Hungary. Other favorable prices include milk for HUF 214 per liter, canned beans with tomatoes for HUF 307 and extra virgin olive oil for HUF 2,486.
Kaufland not only offers attractive options for customers, but also targets employees. The company is looking for Hungarian employees for a warehouse position, their hourly wage is 17.85 euros, which is equivalent to approximately HUF 7,000. Discount prices and high wages are intended to encourage the Hungarian population to spend their money in Slovakia.
