With the participation of István Széchenyi University, the Hungarian spraying drone is being prepared for the international market
István Széchenyi University is an important player in drone research. This area was strengthened by the fact that last year, together with ABZ Drone Kft. and MIB Invest Group Kft., the institution founded a new company called ABZ Innovation Kft. for the development and production of drones and related accessories. With the syndication contract signed a few days ago, the company reached another important milestone in its history, and another defining milestone will soon follow: entering the market with the first self-developed drone.
The representatives of ABZ Drone Kft., MIB Invest Group Kft., Uni Inno Kft., ABZ Innovation Kft. and Széchenyi István University signed the syndicate contract, which sets out the detailed rules for the operation of the jointly founded ABZ Innovation Kft., the parties establishes your rights and obligations. The goal is for ABZ Innovation to develop into a drone manufacturing company entering the European market, also performing the tasks of first-round manufacturer sales. The first self-developed and manufactured drone, Liquidator, may soon be on the market. The agricultural spraying drone combines all current innovations available on the market, designed for domestic and European agricultural conditions. The product therefore offers safe and easy-to-use drone technology to European farmers along with continuous support and service. – István Széchenyi University wishes to contribute to the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy with innovative initiatives that exploit the knowledge and research and development potential of the university. Areas where we can strengthen sustainability are particularly important to us. Our cooperation with drone development is also outstanding from this point of view, as drone technology also contributes effectively to sustainable farming. – said on the occasion of the signing, Dr. Filep Bálint, president of István Széchenyi University. Gábor Dósa, managing director of Uni Inno Kft., the utilization company of Széchenyi István University, added that this cooperation is a flagship in the development of the innovation ecosystem and the university’s business development activities. – Together with a drone development company already present on the market and the capital investor, our institution creates a value with which it is possible to boldly enter the world market. Our goal is to build on the university’s knowledge base and establish as many such collaborations as possible. he emphasized.
Drone technology is the future of agriculture
István Szekeres, the managing director of MIB Invest Group Kft., explained that their company group deals with socially useful, innovative issues that are also economically beneficial. According to him, drone technology is at the forefront of this. “I was previously active in agriculture and the food industry, and I believe that drones are the tool of the future in several areas of agriculture. It is of great importance both economically and ecologically, it is one of the priority development directions of the next decades, in which we also want to play an important role,” he said. István Szekeres emphasized that the joint work with the Széchenyi University is of great importance, since the Hungarian-developed drone can also receive outstanding attention in the world. – ABZ Drone Kft. has been developing drones for a long time, but the collaboration gives the company a new perspective, as it creates an opportunity for our experience and knowledge to be combined with university knowledge and innovation. Few development companies can claim such a background. This collaboration makes it possible to create a product that stands out not only in Hungary, but also internationally, and can even become a market leader. – said Gyula Török, managing director of ABZ Drone Kft. He also revealed that the spraying drone has already entered the final phase of beta testing, so the product could be on the market soon.
Drones offer new, innovative opportunities in many segments of industry and agriculture. The Digital Development Center of István Széchenyi University conducts research in this field in partnership with state, scientific and corporate actors. At Széchenyi University, international-class infrastructure – including the recently established drone technology lab – supports drone research, while the SZEviation student team also helps with the involvement of students and the provision of researchers. The university also plays a significant role in the education of professionals, including through the establishment of a drone and image processing teaching laboratory, as well as specialized training in drone control and drone data analysis.
