Responsibilities of cattle, sheep and goat keepers for uniform applications
In relation to the 2023 application for EU direct and rural development subsidies for cattle, sheep and goat farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture once again draws the attention of livestock farmers to do everything possible to ensure that the data in ENAR is up-to-date, due to the personalization of the animals appearing in the unified application .
In addition, in the case of the fattened bull subsidy linked to production, the proof of the professional use of the sire appears as a new element, and we would like to draw your attention to the necessary information related to this.
1. Impersonation of the animals appearing in the unified application
In the application period starting in April 2023, in the case of animal-based subsidies, attention must be paid to the up-to-date management of the data included in the ENAR (e.g. animal movement and breeding data) in accordance with the provisions of the law. To apply for the animal-based support entitlements listed below, the Hungarian State Treasury fills out – that is, personalizes – the applications in advance, which can be submitted on the electronic interface of the Unified Application.
2. New conditions for the support of fattened bulls
The maintenance of the production-related fattened bull subsidy has been tied by the European Commission to the introduction of a new eligibility condition that encourages keepers to achieve a positive effect in relation to long-term, economic sustainability. For this reason, in addition to leaving the previous conditions unchanged, the professional use of sire animals must also be verified as a new requirement.
It is important that in the case of male cattle potentially applied for the fattening bull subsidy in 2023, the so-called provenance data matcher with code number 1452 is available in the cattle ENAR system to check the KPL number of the sires. In this individual-level query, you can query the data of the domestic or imported cattle that are currently in the producer’s farm or have ever been there.
