The minister referred to the Budapest Declaration, according to which a turnaround in competitiveness is needed in Europe. For a turn whose watchword is economic neutrality. “It is in our interest in Hungary to trade with the West and the East at the same time, thereby strengthening families and the economy, thus giving careers to our young people,” he said, adding: the success of the young is the success of the nation.
As he said, the competitiveness turn in higher education has already taken place, the renewed universities are cooperating and thinking together with the actors of the economy.
The minister pointed out that “not everyone likes the change in the university model, there is a constant headwind from Brussels”, but despite this, Hungarian higher education performs excellently. Twelve Hungarian universities are in the top five percent of the world, one of our universities is in the top one percent of the world.
