Stube

On its last culinary tour members of the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) visited Stube restaurant in Pilisvörösvár. Owners Edina Müller and Zsófia Áy were happy to answer our magazine’s questions.

– What do we need to know about Stube?

– Our restaurant is in an old Swabian corner building in the heart of Pilisvörösvár. We can seat about fifty guests at a time and in good weather we also have a pleasant garden area. Stube offers not only Swabian and Hungarian dishes, but also oven-baked pizzas, artisan burgers and BBQ specialities.

– Have you received any professional recognitions?

– We have won several awards in recent years and are really proud of these. In 2021 we were selected as one of the 100 best restaurants in Hungary by Dining Guide, and we also won the Best Family Restaurant of the Year award.

– Where does your inspiration come from?

– Our main source of inspiration is traditions and family recipes. Another source is the given season and its fresh ingredients. We also keep an eye on professional literature and last but not least we are inspired by our guests.

– Which current trends are close to your heart?

– We like it that more and more guests appreciate quality ingredients, and they are interested in the history and origin of the food. Stube uses a farm-to-table approach: we source our vegetables and meats directly from the producers whenever possible. We have our own online ordering system and mobile app.

– If you had to name three people in the profession that you respect, who would they be?

– Chefs Frigyes Vomberg, István Pesti and Máriusz Adorjányi, and baker Gergő Fekete. //
