In recent years, SPAR has implemented numerous developments across the country in order to ensure that as many of its stores as possible operate in accordance with the most modern customer needs and to create a uniformly high-quality, modern and comfortable shopping environment that simultaneously serves efficiency, quality service and customer experience.

The XIV. district SPAR on Vezér Street

The SPAR supermarket on Vezér Street in Budapest reopened its doors on November 20, 2025, with an investment of 250 million forints. The aim of the development was to enhance the customer experience, which was implemented with small-scale, yet effective transformations. The 765 square meter store awaits customers with a clear sales area, an expanded product range and practical services. The renewed store offers a wider selection of fresh products, and the bakery department has also been expanded. Grilled products are made on site and are available in a self-service warmer, so customers have fresh, ready-to-eat food at their disposal. The new convenience refrigerated island offers sandwiches, salads and ready-to-eat meals, whether for a hearty breakfast or an office lunch. The sale zone is located in a prominent, clearly visible location in the store and provides customers with products available at discounted prices. The smoothness of payment is ensured by 5 self-service cash registers and 3 traditional cash registers. REpont is located in its usual location.

27 people in the renovated supermarket ensure that customers are always greeted with a fresh range of products, an organized sales area and the usual, friendly service.

Improvements at the SPAR on Pacsirtamező Street in District III

The Óbuda department store, renovated at a cost of 789 million forints, reopened its doors on December 4, 2025. The exterior and interior of the store have also been completely renovated, and customers are greeted with a modern image, clean design and a more transparent layout, which makes it easier to find their way around and allows for faster shopping. The sales area covers 766 square meters and features modern equipment to offer SPAR’s usual quality range, from fresh food to private label products. At the entrance, the fruit and vegetable selection awaits customers, followed by a selection of refrigerated convenience products – such as ready-made sandwiches, fresh and mayonnaise salads, and ready-to-heat meals – so everything is easy to find for on-the-go breakfast, snacks or office lunches. In addition to fresh dairy and delicatessen products, the display bakery offers a wide selection of baked goods every day, while the hot grill counter offers freshly prepared grilled dishes prepared on site to complete the fast, yet quality meal. A specials zone has been added next to the new service counter, and on the main street, the usual categories – beverages, specialty products – are available in a clearly visible, modern environment. The number of self-service checkouts has increased to five, convenient shopping is also facilitated by bicycle storage, and the REpont, located directly on the side of the store, offers the opportunity to drop off returnable bottles and waste. The technical content of the development also meets the most modern expectations: new, carbon dioxide-based cooling technology and modern LED lighting ensure energy-efficient operation.

The development not only raises the infrastructure, but also the everyday shopping experience to a new level,” said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.

The renewed Pacsirtamező utca store employs 21 people, who make everyday shopping easier with attentive service.
