SPAR opens high-capacity sandwich and salad making facility
SPAR Hungary is selling fresh sandwiches and salads in more than 100 stores. The retail chain built a new production facility in Üllő, in order to be able to supply every shop with tasty cold food. Production started at the end of March in the 1,500m² production plant, the result of a HUF 1.2-billion investment. The latest technology is used to prepare and package SPAR enjoy. convenience products. Every day 4 tons of mayonnaise salad and 20,000 sandwiches are made here.
SPAR Hungary’s short-tem goal is to be able to supply all SPAR, City SPAR and INTERSPAR stores with products from Üllő. The new production facility has already created 50 jobs. Plan is that in 3 years’ time there will already be 4 production lines in the factory instead of the 2 they have now. SPAR also intends to add new products to the portfolio, e.g. salad dressings, cold soups, drinks, cakes, coffee, meat products, baked goods, sushi and probiotic yogurt drinks. (x)
