SPAR Hungary also made its mark at one of the largest Hungarian gin festivals in Budapest
The IV. Gin Market Budapest awaits visitors with more exhibitors than ever before, in an impressive new location, on June 13-14, 2025. The organizers are expecting around 10 thousand guests to the event, which will be held with the support of SPAR Hungary, and they are preparing many surprises from the increasingly popular drink specialty in our country.
The distinctive taste of gin is due to juniper berries, while other spices and herbs used in its preparation – such as coriander, citrus fruits, angelica, lavender, or even rose petals – all contribute to the drink’s complex, varied flavor profile. The versatility of gin lies in the fact that it can be easily and elegantly combined with other flavors, while also preserving its own character. The popularity of artisanal, new-wave gins has increased dramatically in the last decade. Gin Market Budapest 2025 raises the stakes with an unprecedented selection, colorful accompanying programs, and plenty of surprises.
“The domestic gastronomic culture has undergone tremendous development in the past ten years. As an innovative player in the retail sector, SPAR Hungary not only follows trends, but also gets ahead of them based on the results of our various research. In recent years, for example, we have achieved a 70 percent increase in turnover in the increasingly popular gin area. Our offer includes 26 types of gin: in addition to popular international brands, you can also find domestic specialties, and in addition to classic flavors, flavored and non-alcoholic spirits have appeared. Gin Market Budapest combines cultured drinking with high-quality gastronomy and quality entertainment, which is why we were very pleased to support the event. During the festival, visitors can sample the best of our offerings at our stand, and we are also preparing a store coupon promotion,”
said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
