SPAR Hungary continues to modernize its stores – 1.5 billion forint investment in Győr and Erdőkertes
SPAR Hungary continues its nationwide development: on September 25, it reopened two of its supermarkets to customers. As a result of the investment worth more than 1.5 billion forints, customers can do their daily shopping in modern, convenient and more sustainably operated stores in Győr and Erdőkertes.
“SPAR Hungary thinks long-term and strategically: the goal of our continuous development is to serve the needs of our customers at the highest level. During the modernization, the modern environment, the wide selection and the good prices are the focus. We are proud to be able to provide all this to our customers every day,”
– emphasized Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
1.35 billion forint investment in the heart of the city center: the SPAR supermarket in Győr has been renovated
The SPAR supermarket located in the Arrabona shopping center in the city center has been expanded with 1,152 square meters of sales space, and is one of the most important shopping places for locals, with a modern, attractive image, comfortable layout and expanded services.
The store’s sales space has been completely renovated: new refrigerators, fruit and vegetable units and modern checkouts have been installed. The store has 5 traditional and 6 self-service checkouts to ensure fast service. As a novelty, the new SPAR toGo unit with a youthful design was implemented here, among the first in the country, which awaits customers with cold and hot counters and a standing consumer area. The fresh produce offering has received special emphasis: fruit and vegetable products are located at the entrance, locally baked bakery products and a special area are located in the immediate vicinity. In addition, SPAR convenience products can be found close to the entrance, so sandwiches, mayonnaise salads, ready-made single-dish meals and smoothies are conveniently available to customers. The packaged fresh deli and meat selection offers a great alternative to counter service. Dairy products are also arranged in a clearly arranged manner in the sales area.
During the investment, technical developments supporting sustainable operation were also implemented: energy-saving LED lighting, a carbon dioxide-based, environmentally friendly cooling system, and the recycling of waste heat for heating the store. The REpont recycling machine can be accessed through a separate entrance, directly from the rear parking lot. Additional selective waste collection options are also available in the store.
