Beer consumption is good against osteoporosis
The Department of Food Science of the University of California has good news for beer lovers. The silicon is key to the increasing of the bone’s density and thus plays an important role in the prevention of osteoporosis. Silicon can be found in beer also.
The researchers of the University of California studied 100 different beers.
As it turned out, the silicon content of beer spreads from, 6.4 mg to 56.5 milligrams per liter. An average person needs 20-50 milligrams of silicon per day. According to the results; lighter beers contain the most silicon. The silicon content of the non-alcoholic, lager and wheat beers is lower – reports Világgazdaság Online, after Reuters.
