UK retailer Sainsbury’s has announced that it will only sell eggs sourced from free-range farms as of April 2020. The decision to switch to 100-percent free-range eggs will help in meeting the growing demand for such eggs. The sales of free-range eggs grew by 12 percent in 2018, adding over GPB 10 million in value – Sainsbury’s quoted the latest data from Kantar. The retailer sells around 800 million eggs a year, which is the equivalent of around 2.2 million eggs per day.
