Ryanair ended the quarter with a smaller-than-expected profit
The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair closed the quarter ending at the end of June with a profit smaller than expected by analysts, after the loss a year earlier. The airline said on Monday that profit after tax for the three months ended June 30 was 187.5 million euros, compared with a loss of 272.6 million euros a year earlier. Meanwhile, Ryanair’s quarterly revenue jumped sevenfold from 371 million euros to 2.6 billion euros. According to analysts, the average profit was 406.6 million euros, in addition to a smaller revenue of 2.54 billion euros.
