The Romanian parliament introduces measures aimed at reducing food waste
On Tuesday, the Romanian parliament voted measures aimed at reducing food waste, making food donating easier to the social institutions.
The act was initiated by a representative of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). One of the main provision of the law, obliges the major retail chains, to donate edible food to hospitals, children's homes and other social institutions before the end of the warranty period. The shops are also obliged to sell such products at discount prices. (MTI)
