PICK Bordeaux tours expand with three new routes
Almost half of Hungarians exercise regularly, at least 1-2 times a week, and only one-fifth of the population said they do not exercise at all, according to the results of a national, representative survey commissioned by PICK. The most popular forms of exercise are outdoor activities, especially walking and hiking, cycling, but people also enjoy running and jogging. For those who enjoy exercising and hiking in the fresh air, PICK, in cooperation with the Hungarian Hiking Association, has now expanded the number of PICK Bordeaux tour routes by three more, in addition to the previous three.
1.8 billion people in the world are affected by too little physical activity, according to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO) last year. In recent years, the proportion of people who do not exercise at all has increased by 5 percentage points worldwide, to 31 percent. Based on the data from a national, representative survey commissioned by PICK, it seems that the situation is better in Hungary, with only a fifth (21%) of the thousand respondents saying they never exercise. Less than a third (29%) only exercise rarely (once every two weeks or less), but almost half of the respondents exercise at least 1-2 times a week. In fact, 17 percent said they do some form of exercise every day.
According to the survey, the most popular form of exercise in Hungary is walking and hiking. More than two-thirds of the population hikes on some regular basis. Nearly half of them hike with their families and children, but a fifth of them go on a trip with friends. The number of those who go alone or with strangers on an organized tour is much smaller. Most people choose this form of exercise, in addition to the beauty of nature, because it reduces stress, is good for health and means spending quality time with family and friends, not to mention that it is not a very expensive activity.
The expansion of the PICK Bordeaux circular tour routes this year also serves to promote outdoor exercise, hiking and a conscious lifestyle.
“As a responsible brand, PICK is committed to supporting a balanced, conscious lifestyle and people’s well-being. We would like to encourage as many people as possible, from the youngest to the oldest, to move outdoors and get them out of their four walls. In addition to our campaigns such as Providing Hiking Equipment for the Playful, or Let’s Go Free!, we launched the PICK Bordeaux Tour initiative last year, and we are proud to be expanding it with three more routes this year. All you need is a few delicious salami sandwiches in your backpack and you can head outdoors,”
said Júlia Szokolai, Strategic and Marketing Director of Bonafarm’s meat division, representing PICK.
