Pepco – a proud member of Better Cotton
In today’s fast-paced fashion world, conscious choice is more important than ever. Trends come and go, but sustainable fashion is increasingly taking center stage. Pepco is also taking steps to meet customer demand for environmentally friendly options. By joining the Better Cotton initiative, it not only offers fashionable collections, but also leads the way in reducing the environmental impact of cotton production. Remember: sustainability is always stylish!
Pepco is a member of the Better Cotton project. By joining the initiative, Pepco is committed to improving cotton farming practices globally. In 2023, 23% of the cotton used in Pepco products was purchased within the framework of the program.
Supporting the environment
Through its commitment to Better Cotton, Pepco helped save 15,231,909,660 liters of water and reduced the amount of pesticides used in cotton cultivation by 9,301 kilograms in the past year. Such initiatives not only reduce the harmful effects on the environment, but also support agricultural producers in the sustainable management of their farms and plantations.
Better Cotton – mission and importance
Better Cotton is a multi-stakeholder organization that brings together farmers and companies to support more sustainable cotton production. This is beneficial for both the environment and the employees. Better Cotton’s mission is to help cotton-growing communities survive and thrive while protecting and restoring the environment. With the organization’s support, farmers have the opportunity to grow cotton more sustainably: they can reduce the use of water and pesticides, which overall results in better working conditions.
The growing demand for Better Cotton supports the producers participating in the program and contributes to a more balanced impact of cotton on natural resources.
“We are proud to be a member of Better Cotton. We are happy to support farmers and companies working to improve cotton farming practices. Together we are creating a better tomorrow by promoting more responsible practices in the supply chain”
said Agnieszka Wojdat, Pepco’s quality manager.
