In addition to scientific content, the University of Pécs (PTE) will present itself with colorful programs and lectures at the Planet Budapest 2023 sustainability expo and experience program – announced the curator of the foundation that maintains the university at the Baranya county seat on Friday.
Katalin Szili, the curator of the Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation, reminded us that the University of Pécs already participated in the first Planet Budapest expo – then organized as a world meeting – in 2021, because the institution is “Hungary’s greenest university”, not only on a strategic level, but also on a daily basis in this spirit. .
He said: thanks to the previous investments, developments and implemented measures, energy savings of almost HUF 300 million – 40 percent from gas, for example – were achieved in the first half of this year compared to the first half of 2022.
Most recently, at the end of 2022, PTE ranked 21st in the “UI GreenMetric World University Rankings”, an international program announced as the world’s “green universities”, in which more than 1,050 institutions participated.
