The export price of raw milk was 19 percent lower than the average producer price
The producer price of raw milk expressed in national currency in April 2024 did not change in the USA, decreased by 3 percent in the European Union and 5 percent in New Zealand compared to a year earlier.
According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 164.73/kilogram in May 2024. In addition to the deterioration of the fat content by 0.05 percentage points, the protein content by 0.03 percentage points and the stagnation of the base price, the average price of raw milk decreased by 1 percent in May 2024 compared to April 2024, and was 4 percent below the average price of the same month of the previous year.
The purchase of raw milk in May 2024 exceeded the previous month’s volume by 2 percent, and May 2023 by 5 percent
The export price of raw milk was HUF 133.34/kilogram in May 2024, a decrease of 2 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased by 16 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The export price was 19 percent lower than the average producer price. According to the data of AKI PÁIR, the delivery of raw milk increased by 28 percent in May 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year.
