Higher vegetable product and lower livestock prices
In June 2018 agricultural production prices didn’t change from the level of June 2017 – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). This situation was the result of vegetable product prices growing by 3.5 percent and livestock/products of animal origin prices decreasing by 5.6 percent from the base period level. Compared with June 2017, the price of cereal crops augmented by 13 percent. Fruits cost 19 percent less but the price of vegetables rose 4.6 percent. Livestock’s production price reduced by 7.9 percent, while products of animal origin cost 0.4 percent less. //
