The price of pálinkas may increase by 10 to 20 percent because of the NETA
If the public health product tax (NETA) should also be extended to these products it would increase the consumer prices of pálinka and herbal sparkling liquors by ten to twenty percent – agrarszektor.hu wrote. Although the European Commission has now called on Hungary to change its current legislation within two months, it may take years to come to an end.
In any case, it would increase the prices of pálinka and herbal-based spirits – basically bitter liqueurs – if NETA would be applied for this product – Barabás Attila, Chief Executive Officer of the Győri Likőrgyár Zrt. and President of the Hungarian Pálinka Knights Association told agrárszektor.hu.
