The Minister of National Economy orders an extraordinary consumer protection investigation at the airlines
The National Economy Ministry (NGM), which is responsible for consumer protection, will take decisive action against airlines that commit violations in the interest of the full eradication of the problems and Hungarian families, which is why the Minister of National Economy ordered an extraordinary consumer protection investigation at the airlines.
In its statement on Thursday, the NGM stated: thanks to the measures taken by the Hungarian government and the ministry, the previously experienced airport chaos has ended, and flight delays and cancellations have decreased. At the same time, problems can still be experienced in connection with air transport, as legitimate consumer dissatisfaction can still be observed.
As the professional supervisor of the consumer protection authority, the Ministry of National Economy orders an extraordinary investigation into the operation of airlines at the competent and competent Budapest Capital Government Office.
They added: the authority of the government office acting as a consumer protection authority includes the control of compliance with the rules related to flight delays and cancellations, the sanctioning of possible violations of complaint handling regulations, and the detection of unfair and deceptive commercial practices. In the event of a violation, strict official action and the imposition of an appropriate deterrent fine are justified.
