The National Chamber of Agriculture is helping its members with a new service. Similar to small-scale and young farmer applications, NAK village economist advisors prepare and submit applications for support for Farm Transfer Cooperation free of charge.

Applications for support for Farm Transfer Cooperation can be submitted from August 28. The aim of the measure is to promote successful generational change and the social and economic sustainability of family farms. The Farm Transfer Act provides an opportunity for older farmers to transfer all assets related to their farms (land, other real estate, machinery, property rights, company shares) to the younger generation in a single farm transfer contract.

The tender for farm transferors provides financial support for concluding this contract and for the successful transfer of the farm

Farmers who will reach the old-age pension age by the time the farm transfer is completed, have been farming for at least 10 years and undertake to end their agricultural activity after the transfer can apply. The amount of the support depends on the size of the farm transferred and varies between 4 and 20 million forints. In order to ensure that the generational change can be successfully carried out in as many family farms as possible, the village economist advisors of the National Chamber of Agriculture prepare and submit the applications free of charge, submit payment applications if they are positively assessed and also provide assistance in the administration of project closure. The NAK concludes a cooperation agreement with the farmers whose applications are prepared by the village economists, which is a mandatory annex to the application.

The National Chamber of Agriculture encourages all interested parties to visit their village economist and take advantage of the application advice

It is important that not all village economists deal with application writing, but in every county there are village economists who prepare and submit applications. The free service is therefore available in every county in the country.
