The Munch food rescue platform has reached the magic number
Each Hungarian throws away roughly 66 kilograms of food every year. This includes any food that is not consumed by humans for any reason. Among them are the so-called both unavoidable (e.g. bones, coffee grounds, eggshells) and avoidable (e.g. expired, spoiled due to improper storage) food waste. Munch achieved an important milestone in reducing the latter by saving the one millionth package. This saved its users approximately HUF one billion.
“For us, one million packages saved is not just a number – it is the result of the Munch community’s strength and commitment to sustainability. At Munch, we believe that every package saved counts, and we are proud that our community of users and partners are fighting food waste together with us.”
– Albert Wettstein is the co-founder of Munch.
