The flavors of the past are the health of the future
The Hungarian Bakers’ Association announced the 14th professional competition in early April, and Hungarian-owned baking companies entered nearly 70 baked goods into the three competition categories. The breads already selected by the professional jury in the first round were included in the second round, which will be held on June 4, 2025.

Nearly a third of the companies entering are new competitors
Not only members of the Hungarian Bakers’ Association, but also any Hungarian-owned bakery company can enter the professional competition. The competition is becoming increasingly popular, with nearly 70 products entered in 3 categories this year. 20 companies entered the St. Stephen’s Day Bread title with 29 products. 14 companies entered the Innovative Bread category with 26 products, while 9 companies sent 13 products for the Walking Cake competition. The submitted bakery products were developed by the applicants for this competition, so they will only be commercially available after the competition.
